Instructors
Guybson Sá was born in Fortaleza - Brazil in 1988 and received his Black Belt in 2009 from Master Sa and Professor Sazinho after winning the World Championship by CBJJO and CBJJE at the ranks of Purple and Brown Belts. He has also won countless IBJJF and NAGA titles, as well as multiple professional MMA fights in the Shooto Brazil, and Blood Brothers organizations. He is now the owner of Spartan Academy Mixed Martial Arts (SAS Team) in Columbia SC.
Robson Sá is the brother of professors “Sázinho “ and Guybson Sa, and the 4th son of Master Sá. He was born in 1991 in Fortaleza and received his black belt in December of 2015. Professor Robson is currently the head instructor at SAS Team headquarters in Fortaleza Brazil and competes all over Brazil.
Professor Rob Nickerson III began training in boxing at 12 years old, then found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1999. In 2006 began training part time under the tutelage Professor Jorge Gurgel, moving completely under the SAS banner officially in 2008. Rob has competed in all realms of martial arts collecting amateur titles in boxing and mma, as well fighting professional in both. In 2013 Rob earned his black belt. Collecting gold medals at the Arnold classic, IBJJF, Naga as well other regional tournaments. He is currently the owner and head instructor of SAS affiliate Reaction MMA.
Thiago Thomaz has been practicing Jiu Jitsu for over a decade .
As a brown belt under Tavares, he ranked as the number 3 IBJJF competitor in the world and was a Fight to Win Pro-Title contender. In 2019, Thomaz won 1st place in the 2019 Pan-American Championship in Irvine California, where he was promoted on the winner’s podium to black belt by is childhood friend and mentor, IBJJF Masters World Champion, Professor Daniel Tavares SAS Team.
